This is NOT your typical couples’ retreat or approach to couples’ work. Whether you’ve been together for a few months or a few decades, when we choose to do life with another person, we all experience challenges and develop unhealthy patterns and habits in our relationships. Using the latest, most effective, and research based approaches to creating mutually satisfying, happy, peaceful, and connected relationships, we see overwhelming increases in connectedness, mutual respect, mutual satisfaction, intimacy, trust, safety, understanding and empathy, support for one another’s happiness, passions, and priorities, effective repair, conflict resolution, and problem solving (with accountability but without shame) AND supportive team-like strategies and skills that actually work! While we would ALL like to think we can do this on our own, we often we need an outside perspective to help us identify strengths and challenges to maximize the good and work through those barriers to health in our closest relationships.
Couples Training
Details:
In Person Training Venue Check In: The training building venue will be open one hour prior to training start time. Check in will begin approximately one hour prior to the designated training start time. If you want to get parked, check in at the venue, meet others beforehand, grab a quick bite, or get acquainted with the training venue area, please plan accordingly with a bit of cushion by arriving one hour ahead of time. If not AND you have also completed the bulk of your check in, electronically, please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to training start time to allow for in person check in, considering a potential line if everyone is doing it the same way at the same exact time, to allow us to accurately prepare and to assist with any challenges, and also, to avoid a late night! We finish when we’re done.
Formal Training Hours: Friday at 1:00 PM through Sunday at 5:00 (see check in times and details below)
Training Venue Location:
411 S Main
Suite 117 (in between Emporium Pies & The Dusty Biscuit)
Parking: Across the street (cattycorner to Emporium Pies) in the large and specifically designated parking lot ONLY for and prepaid by the associated businesses, which includes the meeting venue
Training Dates: Please see training calendar under “Special Trainings & Events
Tuition Cost: $1400/per couple (total for both adults at $700 each)
Overnight Accommodations: Overnight stays are the responsibility of the trainee. Upon registration, you will receive a list of local hotels close to the training venue. While we recommend taking the time to fully focus and maximize time for homework, sleep, and limited downtime by staying at a hotel near the training venue, we also recognize staying at home or with friends/family if nearby, it can be a way to cut down on the cost of this worthwhile training.
What To Bring: Courage, self respect, respect toward others, respect for the venue property, empathy, openness, a willing spirit, humility, and a teachable attitude always increases the quality of everyone’s training and allows us ALL to focus on significant growth and success.
And also, the following are suggestions based on experiences of participants:
a refillable water bottle for breaks (optional)
a notebook and pen (optional)
drinks, snacks, protein bars, granola bars, crackers, etc - basically easy to eat sustenance for short breaks (optional)
quick and easy to make, eat, and clean up meals to save the cost of eating out on all meal breaks (optional)
small cooler for your refrigerated items (optional)
while we have some of this onsite for those in need, whatever utensils, plates, napkins, cups, etc for anything you bring (optional)
dress in layers as temperature can fluctuate and being comfortable can increase the quality of this experience (optional)
NOTE: There will be a designated area to keep the things you wish to leave at the venue overnight, to avoid lugging lots of items back and forth each day. Additionally, we also have a water fountain of filtered water (cold, hot, and room temperature) and a microwave we will allow participants to use on breaks.
